BIOGRAPHY

Founded by Award-winning Producer/Director MICHAEL MCNAMARA, McCommera Filmworks Inc. aka MCFILMWORKS has been a top tier purveyor of creative, visually exciting shows for networks like MTV, VH1, CMT, BET, A&E, WE, Sundance Channel, E!, TLC, and PBS. With a wide-ranging film production background in commercials, music videos, political media, and short subjects, MCfilmworks is a leader in the world of cost-effective, high-quality digital television productions, with an extensive credit list of reality & music programming and documentaries. MCfilmworks combines vast production experience with the latest technologies and innovative visual styles to produce some of the best looking and most original content on television.

MCfilmworks is always trying to move beyond the boundaries of “what has been done before.” Their vast experience with the cutting edge technologies, compelling storytelling, and evocative visual style help produce programs that are as striking as they are substantial.

Michael met Producer SHERI MAROUFKHANI while producing the award-winning Behind The Music for VH1. The duo found that they shared a vision for undertaking unique projects that are creatively challenging and visually stunning, and Sheri joined MCfilmworks as the Head of Development.

As a team, they have produced diverse programming such as Totally Obsessed, Love Lounge, Inside/Out, and Set In Skin for VH1 and delved into sub-culture topics as diverse as Illegal Street Racing, Bounty Hunting, Survivalists, and The Michigan Militia for CMT’s Most Shocking series. In addition, MCfilmworks produced five hour-long shows profiling the wildly popular PBR (Professional Bullriders Association) for CMT.

Recently, the team wrapped production on the third season of the critically acclaimed reality docu-soap Baldwin Hills for BET -- which the New York Times hailed as “highly satisfying” – as well as the first season of Harlem Heights, a new, fully sponsored, NYC-based docu-soap series for BET, and completed on Paint Misbehavin’, a stunt and procedural pilot for TLC.

While continuing to head up MCfilmworks, Michael McNamara continues to direct commercials, music videos, comedic short films, political spots, live events, and concert specials. On the slate are a variety of feature films and documentaries that range from twisted comedies to edgy bio pics. Most recently, he produced and directed CMT Crossroads with Grammy Award winning duo Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Will The Circle Be Unbroken for PBS, a sponsored special for the WE network entitled Park City: Where Music Meets Film, and the Don Was hosted Links and Wasmopolitan Dance Party for My Damn Channel.
